So, you finished your fantasy novel - woot! But...you’re still a little nervous, because novels are a big deal, and maybe you’re feeling a little shaky on your magic system.

Are you feeling anxious about the complexity of your magic system making sense? Or maybe wondering if there’s enough info for your readers, but you know you’re too close to the work to be objective? Do you find yourself wishing you could find an editor who was like, super into the intersection between the nuts and bolts of magic and the narrative arc of a story? If you’re flailing, wondering where the heck you even find a MAGIC editor, then this package is for you!

Here’s how we’ll work together:

Prework: I’ll send over a handy lil survey, and you’ll give me the rundown on what’s working, what’s not, and what kind of specific need you’re looking for from me (ie; I need help making sure none of my magic is appropriative! Or I need help looking for magical consistencies! etc)

Initiation: We’ll get on a one hour zoom call and I’ll share a plan for tackling your story review and the input I’ll be focusing on.

Rolling Up The Sleeves: I will read through your story and provide thoughts and markups. After that, we’ll meet 1x a week for 3 weeks. I will give you actionable feedback and tasks and will walk you through revisions. 

  • This stage will include ~5 hours of homework from you in between sessions

Boom, we made it!: At the end of working together, we’ll have gone through your book 1x and you will have actionable feedback on magic readability, sensitivity, and structure. I will also provide you with a 6 page document covering our progress and next steps (including a calendar for revisions, potential sensitivity readers if needed, when to hunt for an agent, and creation of magic codex.)
