Castle In The Sky:
Environment Concept Art

Environment Concept Art | Pricing starts at $1,799

This fantastical package is for game developers, graphic novelists, and publishers who need help visualizing their worlds, sets, and iconic friggin Temples of Doom (but like, minus the cultural appropriation, yeah?)

You might be here if…

Your suave, cool as a cucumber butch detective protagonist is investigating a spooky haunted mansion. And listen, if it’s gonna give THAT hot babe the chills? It’s gotta be something special. Problem is...art’s totally not your gig, and you got like 5 backgrounds to stock for this visual novel. SOS!

The wreckage of the most famous lost spaceship in the last 3000 years has been found adrift on the edges of the galaxy, and she’s been through the ringer. Your graphic novel boldly goes where no-one has gone before to explore the beautiful old wreck and solve the mystery of a lifetime. This thing is like, Titanic fancy, and uber huge, though, and you’ve got WAY too much on your plate to figure out all the backgrounds.

You’re putting together look and feel for the next kickass dragon fantasy game, and kids, there’s a floating city to explore! You’ve got lore from the last game and your players have seen it all - this city’s gotta be the perfect balance of good ol’ nostalgia, and out of this world shiny and new.

Sound like you? Awesome! I got you.

Here’s how we’ll work together:

  • Pre-work: Fill out my helpful lil survey and tell me about your story and what you’re looking for, including the # of concepts, angles/shots needed, and complexity of design. (ie: are we looking for a dragon’s lair, or a wizard’s tower? A whole kickass fantasy city? Or even - you have no idea, just a plot point, please send help?)

  • Creative Concept Meeting: We’ll meet over Zoom for an hour to discuss concept needs and create a creative brief.  You’re welcome to bring inspiration imagery and references to this call!

  • Laying Foundations: I’ll zip back to my workshop (read: desk surrounded by too much coffee and plants) - and get to work on initial concepts. Once those are approved, I’ll send a near-final version and you can give 1 round of major revisions, usually via email. (For more complex projects, we may do a couple rounds of revisions. We’ll define the set number of rounds before beginning your project.)

  • Final Revisions: I’ll make revisions and then send over 3 color options for the design we’ve landed on. We’ll get on a Zoom call to discuss and tweak things live (ie: Can we make the stone look a little more weathered? Can we make the glow of the crazy magic apparatus a more sickly green?)

  • It’s a Wrap, Folks: We’re done! I’ll send the final version, and off you go on your grand adventure (or to torment your players with your cool new environment, ya know, whatever floats your boat.)

The final deliverable is an environment design style sheet, with orthographic and/or isometric layouts (we’ll define that before beginning your project,) callouts for critical features, and a key art image*.

For more info, or to see if we’re a fit, contact me here!

Not seeing quite what you’re looking for? Shoot me an email! I’ll let you know if it’s in my wheelhouse. Seriously; I won’t sell you on something that’s not. We got worlds to build, y’all, and our time is too valuable for bullshit!

*key art here meaning a rendered image of a single shot, to show mood, tone, and how the whole thing comes together.
